Ad Hoc

The key is often found in the beginning. UNlike a traditional committee, this committee is an ad hoc. In contrast to standard Model UN, no external preparation is needed. Specifically 12 hours before the conference, information regarding this topic will be released. Notably, all delegates need is a general knowledge of Robert’s Rules of parliamentary procedure. Otherwise most of the committee requirements will be shared on the day of! Most importantly, at the start of Session 1, delegates will be handed their dossiers and presented with the background guide. Overall time to prep is short, so this committee is recommended for delegates with previous Model UN experience: usually juniors and seniors. Regardless, I have full faith in each and every delegate that they will learn a lot in this committee, while also having a great time! Eventually you will see that this is something you have never seen before, something that does not hold true to its name; not knowing what comes next is the best part, so get ready for a unique challenge!

This committee follows parliamentary procedure as defined in our Crisis Committee Parley Pro Document. However, procedure during committee may be modified at the Moderator’s discretion.

No Position Paper Required

Due to the special nature of Ad Hoc, position papers will not be required for this committee.
