Avatar: The Last Airbender

"Water. Earth. Fire. Air. Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them, but when the world needed him most, he vanished.”

Now, 100 years have passed, and the world has been ravaged by the Fire Nation’s relentless imperialism and conquest. The Southern Water tribes cling to survival. The legendary walls of Ba Sing Se stand as the only major stronghold left to the Earth Kingdom. The Air Nomads, once a prospering civilization, have been consigned to the books of history… until now.

A new Avatar, Aang, has awoken from a century-long slumber. Being the world’s last remaining airbender, Aang sets off on a journey to gather allies, master the four elements, and defeat the Fire Nation once and for all.

But such a task will not be easy. The Fire Nation continues to exert growing influence with its industrial technology and military prowess. Additionally, legends speak of the return of Sozin’s Comet, an event that threatens to bathe the Fire Nation in limitless power, granting Fire Lord Ozai the strength to burn his enemies to ash.

Will the nations of the world aid the Avatar in fulfilling his duty a century in the making, or will the Fire Nation’s unyielding strength prevail?

Rules and Procedure

This committee follows parliamentary procedure as defined in our Crisis Committee Parley Pro Document. However, procedure during committee may be modified at the Moderator’s discretion.

Position Paper

All delegates wishing to be considered for an award must submit a position paper before the start of conference. Position paper quality will be included in consideration of awards, however paper quality will not hold as much weight in award consideration as actual committee performance. Position papers are meant to ensure a basis for delegate research and help delegates feel confident while participating during the conference.
