Background Guide

Coming out soon!

For over a century, College Football (CFB) has been a staple in American sports history. The “Blue Bloods” have clashed for dominance across the nation, fighting for their legacies and traditions. Juggernauts of the game, such as Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Texas, OU, and USC, hold great pride in their multitude of national championships and Heisman winners. Despite the cultural significance that the sport has elicited nationally, in recent years the organization that is CFB has evolved, completely unrecognizable from what it once was.

The popularization of NIL deals, formation of the transfer portal, and constant expansion & tinkering of the College Football Playoffs have disrupted the status quo. Additionally, the migration of schools between conferences has led to an imbalance of television power between the sectors, and geographically non-consistent divisions. Rather than for the love of the game, decisions are being made by suits with only one interest in mind: money. Committee commissioners, athletic directors, and media executives have a far greater say than ever before. Players themselves are far more involved with variables off the field: with greater media presence and star power, they have the ability to influence an entire program’s image by the decisions and statements they make.

Now that loyalty can be bought and tradition can crumble in an instant, corruption and controversy run rampant, and the integrity of the sport hangs in the balance. In this crisis simulation, the most powerful names in college football will have to figure out how to maximize profit and boost fan interest while also upholding the rights of student-athletes and retaining the traditions and culture that make college football so special. However, this won’t be an easy task: chaos is a constant in the world of college football, and conference realignments, player safety concerns, and over-sensationalized media headlines are constantly creating unpredictable scenarios. Furthermore, focus must also be allocated towards critical decisions about the on-the-field product, such as the Heisman winner and playoff selections. Make the wrong moves and everything could spiral out of control- the fate of America’s most beloved sport rests in your hands. Let the 2026 College Football season begin!
