Minecraft: The Arrival of Steve
Background Guide
Coming out soon!
I see the player you mean.
Steve?
Yes. Take care. It has reached a higher level now. It can read our thoughts.
For trillions of ticks, there was only a vast world, stretching block by block across forests and deserts, oceans and mountains, caves and skies. Life emerged in equilibrium: villagers built and traded, iron golems stood watch, animals roamed freely, and even the hostile mobs found their places in the darkness. Conflict existed between the mobs, but it was familiar and contained. Raids were repelled, nights survived, and the safe havens, dungeons, and fortresses of the various factions were hastily rebuilt. The Overworld, Nether, and End remained separate, their boundaries respected more by honor than treaty. However, something unnatural threatens to upset this balance.
A lone figure now walks this world. He does not burn in sunlight, flinch at immense pain, or seem bound by the algorithms that the mobs uphold. He reshapes the land with his hands, fells trees in moments, raises structures overnight, and steps calmly into realms others fear to enter. Rumors have spread like skulk. Some say they have seen him trade peacefully. Others claim to have witnessed entire landscapes change in his wake. He does not speak in any language the mobs understand, yet his actions speak loudly. As whispers spread from village bells to cave echoes, one question unites friend and foe alike: what does Steve want?
As the ancient words say, “And the universe said everything you need is within you. And the universe said you are stronger than you know.” Whether this newcomer seeks coexistence, conquest, or something altogether unknowable remains unclear. Opportunity and danger now arrive hand in hand. Alliances may form where none existed before; old rivalries may be reignited or exploited. For the first time, the mobs of all factions have convened to respond. Is Steve a force to be engaged with, negotiated with, resisted, manipulated, or destroyed? The answer is waiting to be mined. The mobs of the world must craft their own future, or let their influence wither to Steve’s.
